Profile on "The King"

This is a brand new segment that I am introducing to the Blog. Every now and then I will be doing a player profile on a past or present player, and I thought there was no better way to kick it off than with "The King" Richard Gent.

Richard is the 40th representitive of the Yorkies. He was first brought into the side as a fill in for Little Mahster on the Mahsters birthday!

Debut: 06/02/2006 V SBS. Batted 2nd with Super Dog, partnership scored 41
Batting: 18 innings 459 runs Ave 25.500 (pair)
Batting Ave with The Don: 27.077 (pair)
Best Partnership: W/ The Don V SBS 29/05/2006 55 runs
Worst Partnership: W/ Bendy V Walsh & Whatever 06/06/2006 -1 run
Other Partners: Thorpe 1 inn 34 runs, Dave 1 inn 22 runs, Raddis 1 inn 11 runs.
MVP votes for last season: 0, DNP, 10, 10, 2, 2, 0 - total 24 votes.

Ten questions with The King.
1.Full name? Richard Gordon Gent (both my grandfathers were Gordon, I'm just greatful I was the second son, my brother is McDonald...?)
2.Age? 28
3.Place of birth? Camperdown
4.Job? Easiest answer-I work with schools, youth services, welfare organisations in Melton
5.Sporting hero? Andrew Gaze
6.Greatest sporting achievment? I once hit a 7 iron in the hole from 150m. The symbolic part was that I pretty much shanked it, it was summer, it ran along the ground, bounced left, then right, hit a rock, bounced off a tree and then went in...
7.Nerdiest feature or hobby or habbit? Where to start? I like John Denver, I iron my hankies, I prefer the 10am rather than the 6pm service at York Street, I wear converse allstars to work with pants, I have size 12 feet.
8.Earliest sporting memory? Meeting Gary Ablett Snr at Kardinia Park in 1980something. He stretched out his hand, shook mine and said "g'day Richard how are you?" and I said...nothing...don't know why really...
9.Tip for MVP? I think I'll romp it home...
10.Favourite quote? Bueller...Bueller...Bueller

Thanks to Richard for being our very first Player in Profile. Feel free to post your comments.
Cap'n.
