21st August vs Towners

Ok, so I was a little late to the game tonight, which meant that Cap'n Bob and myself batted second pair. The Towners lost the Grand Final last season in a higher grade than us, but only had 7 players tonight. We lost the toss and were sent into bat.

Pax & Bendy batted first pair and had a slight hickup when Bendy was stumped on the second ball of the over, a couple of 2s meant they ended the over on 2. The next over they scored three 2s, a 3 and two singles to take the score to 13. The third over started with a noball + 2, then Pax hit a seven, Bendy hit a five and then pax hit another seven. They totalled 25 from the over. The last over Bendy was caught once and three 2s, a wide and single helped them take the score to 41.

Cap'n and Little Mahstar batted second pair and started with a Wide, then Stumping, a couple of singles, a Catch and a 2. The next over had just three singles, the following over saw 2 wickets and some singles, which didn't necessarily come off the bat. The final over had another two wickets and some 2s. The final partnership was -8.

Thorpe and Daints took up 3rd pair and each faced 12 balls in the four overs. Just one wicket through a runout and several 2s and a couple of 4s and a 5 meant they had a partnership of 41. The Don and The King closed out the innings with a nice 20 runs. King was bowled and runout once, while both were caught once each. The final over King hit a 5 and a 7.

Our bowling in the first couple of overs was unable to contain the batsman. King bowled the 1st and 12th overs, he conceeded 12 in the first over and two wickets in his second over netted 0. His figures were 2 for 12.
Mahstar bowled the 2nd and 7th overs, and bowled a couple of good balls in his second over and almost got a runout. Conceeding 18 and 10 runs in each over.
Pax bowled 3rd and 8th overs and picked up 4 wickets for a net result of 4 for -5. There were a few dot balls, some 4s and 3s.
Bendy bowled the 4th and 11th overs, he had consecutive wickets in his first over for -4 runs, and a wicket in his second over, a 5 and a 4 which netted 8 for the over.
The Don bowled 5th and 14th overs. An injury whilst fielding meant he bowled his second over earlier than usual. He normally bowls the 16th over. A wicket was taken on the last ball of his first over. His second over started with a legside wide, followed by a wicket and ended with another wicket. The net result was -7 in his second over.
Thorpe took the 6th and 16th overs. A couple of wides in his second over meant there were two extra balls bowled. The runs conceeded were 6 and 13.
Bob bowled the 9th and 13th overs, his first over started with three 4s, followed by a wicket then a 3 and 7. His second over started with a 4 and wicket. Total runs conceeded was 21.
Daints bowled the 10 and 15th overs, with his first over being 3,4, 7, wicket, 7 and 4. His second was 3, 1, 2, wicket, 1, dot. Total runs of 22.

So to summerise the bowling The Don had 3 for -6, Pax 4 for -5, Bendy 3 for 4, King 2 for 12, Thorpe 1 for 19, Bob 2 for 21, Daints 2 for 22, and Little Mahstar 0 for 28.

We ended up losing the match by 1 run from the last ball of the match. Being the person that I am, I blame myself cause I couldn't stop the ball from hitting the side net, which meant they made the runs.

Eight of the wickets we took were runouts, eight were catches and one stumping.
