Pre-Lim final vs Eureka Diggers.

Our matches versus these guys are usually pretty fun, and fair. Tonight I didn't play as I started Basketball about 10 minutes before the Cricket match was due to start.

The player lineup was Bendy & Super Dog, Cap'n Bob & Dave, The Don & The King, Pax & Daints. I got to the cricket centre while the Yorkies were fielding just before the end of the 8th over.

The partnerships for this game were very even, with 37, 30, 31 & 34 respectively. The pairs are shown above. They were saying that Cap'n Bob & Dave had their partnership upto 40 but lost a couple of wickets in the last over they faced. They had a bit of luck with the bat tonight, with 2 of the jackpot balls almost being wickets.

The Yorkies batted first with a total of 132, made it much easier to defend. They were all on their game in the field and with their bowling. Daints and Pax have been sharing the keeping duties quite well of late, with Daints keeping for about the first 8 overs and Pax keeping for the rest of the match. Although tonight Pax's second over was the nineth of the innings.

The Eureka Diggers first two pairs made a total of 16 in the chase, which included a 7 from the last ball of the 8th over.

The data I have for the bowling order is:
The King 1st and 13th
Super Dog 2nd and 8th
Pax 3rd and 9th
Bendy 4th and 12th
Dave 5th and 14th
Cap'n Bob 6th and 11th
The Don 7th and 16th
Daints 10th and 15th.

The Don has proved that he is worthy of bowling the last over of the innings.

The diggers 3rd pair hit several big shots to the back net taking the score from 16 upto 64. which left 69 required from the final pair to win the game. They gave it a go trying to chase the runs, which also resulted in losing more runs from stumpings and runouts. There were some great fielding efforts in the last 8 overs of the match, and a couple of near runouts.

The Grand Final is on Monday at 7pm.. We'd like to you all to show your support.
Anyone want to make pom poms.
