With the King retiring, thought I'd put up his MVP stats. Possibly the unluckiest play in the competition!
Total MVP Votes: 59.
Despite being equal highest all time (The Cap'n is also on 59) he never managed to win an MVP. The Don pipped him by two votes in the Summer 06/07 season, Philbert narrowly beat him out in Spring 07 by 2 and most recently Pax finished 2 ahead of him. Does this make him the greatest player never to win an MVP?

This leaves him stranded on the all time list at number 4 (behind The Cap'n, Pax and The Don). It's pretty likely that Thorpe will go past him this season and possibly Philbert if he has a good one.
Pairs Race
As you'd expect, despite never take out the big one, his high MVP votes helped him to a couple of Pairs race victories. He took it out with Philbert in Spring 07 (record Pairs race high of 223 votes) and also the most recent with Pax (135 votes).
As far as all time pairs goes, he's also done very nicely for himself, sitting in 2nd with Phil (440 votes), 4th with the Don (270 votes) and 9th with Pax (135 votes).
He's also partnered with Jacko (15 votes), Harmer (11 votes) and The Cap'n (3 votes).
Well done, King. You'll go down as one of the greats....
