A disappointing result brought about some very interesting voting. I’m unsure if the performances were very even or if it was just a case of everyone trying to apportion blame, but here’s what happened.
For the first time, every player was given at least one vote.
5 players received a 3 vote, 6 received a 2 vote and 6 received a 1 vote.
The eventual winner did so with the lowest number of votes since our very first vote, where only 4 out of 8 players voted.
Final 3-2-1 were:
Votes for MVP
3 – Phil – “Unlucky with the bat, amazing in the field, bowled with serious heat.”
2 – Little Mah-Star – “For actually posting a score with Bob and some fine fielding efforts.”
1 – Bendy - "Batted like an old pro and bowled right on the money.”
Will this be the year of the fill-in? Phil and Thorpe lead the voting now, but the little Mah-Star is starting to make his move.
Running Total MVP
6 – Phil
4 - Thorpe
3 – The Don, Little Mah-Star
2 – Cap’n, Chanka, Pax, Bendy
The Don and the King still hold a slight lead but with Cap’n and Little Mah-Star being the only pair that’s batted all four games, they’re starting to move up the board, now only 4 votes behind.
Pairs Totals:
The Don – The King – 42
Cap’n – Little Mah-Star – 38
Chanka – Phil – 29
Daints – Thorpe - 27
Pax – Bendy – 18
The King – Phil – 12
Bendy – Thorpe – 10
Daints – Jacko - 9
Pax – Daints – 6
Thorpe – Malpass - 1

Apparently One catch is enough for me to get votes. And facing a heap of wide deliveries whilst Bob scored more from the bat.
