26th February vs Black Hill Steve's

Our final game of the season was versus Black hill steve's. Our lineup included, Daints & Thorpe, Mahstar and Cap'n, Don & King, Bruce & Pax.

We were forced to field first as the other team were all in the bar doing their weekly thing of downing a few before the game. We started off in the best possible way with Pax taking a catch from the first ball. The next ball was hit for 5 but then three dot balls saw another 5 runs taken off. The first over bowled by the King ended on -10. Mahstar to the second over and conceeded 2 runs and included a runout by Bruce. Pax was given the third over and had five taken from his over. Thorpe closed the pair out with 17 runs taken from the over including a 7. This made the partnership total 14.

The second pair had the young kid who at first glance teams might go easy on him with the bowling, but he is quite a good batsmen, The Don took the jackpot over and conceeded just 4 runs. Mahstar had a bit of a shocking over which included back to back 7s and conceeded 23 runs.
The second pair took the score to 57 for a partnership of 43.

We fort back very well against the third pair restricting them to just 2 runs following several wickets including back to back catches by the Mahstar.

The last pair hit almost everything straight towards the back net, and got the score over 90, but the final over by the don included two wickets with the final ball clean bowling the batter. We were set 89 for victory.

Daints and Thorpe opened the batting and did it easily making 31. They only lost one wicket when Thorpe was caught in the fourth over. Thorpe reached the back net twice with 4s, and the rest were scored with 2s and singles.
Cap'n Bob and Mahstar came in second and made a nice 19 .
Don & King took the score to 69.
Pax & Bruce didn't hit any sevens but still made 40 runs.

The final score was 109 to 88.

Daints and Pax did a superb job with the gloves which saw some brilliant stumpings.
Thorpe was deadly in close throwing the stumps down to get some runouts, and also cause some bruising to Daints.
For the first time ever Mahstar took catches on consecutive balls.
Bruce hit the stumps a couple of times for the runouts.
