Our spectator turnout for this match was Thorpe's wife and children which meant to have stats for this game I had to do it myself. This meant the bowling figures for my overs are from memory, plus the greylead broke during the 13th over so i don't have accurate figures for the last few overs. But the batting figures are pretty right.
Ok, so the Black Hill Steve's first pair made 22, with the overs being bowled by King (10 runs), Mahstar (20 runs), Pax (1 run) and Thorpe (-9 runs). Pax took back to back wickets to stop the run flow with a Catch and Runout, the Thorpe took three wickets.
Their second pair started poorly with a Runout from the jackpot ball, but they recovered a little bit to make a net 10 runs. The overs were bowled by Bendy (-10 runs), Mahstar (10 runs), Pax (9 runs) and Cap'n Bob (1 run)
The third pair lost alot of wicket in their partnership of 7 runs. The overs bowled by Tim (-6 runs), Daints (-3 runs), Bendy (8 runs) and King (8 runs). Tim took three wickets from catches which included one that Daints stole from him.
The last pair made a total of 9 runs which they also got from their first over. Since the team only had seven players one batter returned to the crease. Their partnership started with a Jackpot 7 for 14 runs. Which is the first time in awhile that has happened. Two wickets in the same over netted 9 runs. The overs were bowled by Cap'n (9 runs), Tim (~1 run), Daints (~-1 run), and Thorpe (zero runs). They set us 49 runs for victory, which in our recent form wasn't to hard to chase down.
Cap'n and Mahstar continued as opening pair, and netted 2 runs after Mahstar was caught from the fourth ball. The second over we made an easy 7 runs and even had to face the "third ball" rule on the last ball. The third over Bob only faced 1 ball, as Mahstar got out twice more. The fourth over Bob took most of the strike. Our partnership was 18 runs, with Bob making runs off the bat or extras from every ball faced, he made 20 + 4 extras from 9 balls. while Mahstar made five singles which netted -10 runs + 4 extras from 15 balls.
Pax and Bendy batted together for the fourth time and they lost just two wickets on the way to making 34 runs, which is just below their average, and if they bat together at least once more then they will knock the partnership of Bendy and Daints out of the top 20 for pairs with 5 or more innings. They showed a great understanding with the running between wickets, with just 1 runout plus twice stealing an extra single when Bendy hit a four.
King and Tim had little pressure on them as we had already past the target score, however people expected Tim to smash the ball to the back net, but that didn't happen until the last over they faced when Tim hit two 7s. They both kept the score moving along losing just one wicket and facing several wides or no balls, they put on 42 runs.
Daints and Thorpe came together again for the fourth time and made a simple 17 runs even after losing five wickets, including two runouts. There were a couple of back net shots but mostly 2s and 3s. Our final score was 111 runs.
We were 2nd on the ladder before this game.
Here is the ladder:
| Team | W | L | D | For | Agst | % | BP | TP |
| Towners | 6 | 0 | 1 | 615 | 465 | 132.20 | 31 | 70 |
| Yorkies | 6 | 1 | 0 | 413 | 487 | 84.80 | 26 | 62 |
| MP Extreme | 4 | 2 | 1 | 661 | 452 | 146.21 | 34 | 61 |
| Master of Puppets | 4 | 3 | 0 | 781 | 661 | 118.15 | 36 | 60 |
| Bulls | 3 | 4 | 0 | 750 | 716 | 104.75 | 39 | 57 |
| Black Hill Steve's | 1 | 5 | 2 | 446 | 737 | 60.52 | 21 | 51 |
Some things of note from this match, Pax took a superb catch that was hit like a rocket, Mahstar took a catch, Bendy made some great runouts. Daints stealing a catch from Tim and trying to steal another catch a little later. Again the fillins outshine the regulars. Although the line between fillin and regular has blurred a little with Thorpe playing every game this season as a fillin.
