Our player line up included, bob, Bendy, pax, daints, The King, The Don, Super Dog, and myself.

Our previous meeting against this team we won 182 to 45. Cap'n Bob noticed that they had two different players from our previous encounter.

We batted first tonight with Super Dog and Bendy opening, they lost a couple of wickets in the first over, having the score as low as -6, but recovered to -1 after the first over. They continued to struggle a little making 4 from the second over, -1 from the third, then 5 from the 4th for a partnership of 7. Cap'n Bob and the Little Mahstar batted the usual 2nd pair, with Cap'n Bob wanting to face the jackpot ball. He hit the first ball to the back net for a total of 10. The next three balls I faced went down leg side, but weren't called wide, so we lost a wicket on the 3rd ball rule, despite the Umpire (Scotty) not clearly telling us it was the 3rd ball. Anyway, after the 5th over we were on 12. During one of the overs we stole a run when the bowler was waiting with the ball. That one was real close and I don't think I actually made my ground, but it was given in. I continued to struggle to hit the ball, they kept bowling fast down leg side. Normally those balls would have been called wide. The last two balls I faced I got bowled from one then caught off the last ball. We made a total of 1 run.

The Don and The King came back together and continued where they left off from a few weeks ago. They played sensibly, and made a handy 37 runs, which gave some respectabilty to the score. Pax and Daints have been the other consistant pairing this season, and just played the risk free side net shots and gave us something to defend by making 34. Our teams total was 79.

Our fielding started with a Jackpot catch at the back net by "The Don". Their first pair had -9 after one over, they scored 10 from the next over then 14 from the next two. The first pair had 29 in the chase. The second pair attacked, making 7, then 14 from the fifth and sixth overs. The seventh and eighth overs saw some wickets fall, with -14 and -6. They had 30 after two pairs. The third pair played it pretty easy and made 29 leaving the last pair to need 21 for victory. The last pair got upto 75 and hovered around that mark for three overs, before taking the lead in the last over. They were upto 91, but lost a wicket from the last ball. We lost by 7 runs.

The umpire didn't seem to be paying alot of attention to the game. He forgot to call the third ball rule when their third pair was batting, and so we should have had the wicket the next ball. He is normally a good umpire, but that and a couple of other decisions could have cost us the victory. Mostly the leg side wides that weren't called.

I bowled the 4th and 10th overs of the match. I bowled a few straight but they were just hit to the back net, so I conceeded heaps of runs. The last ball I bowled I decided to ball it into the roof so they couldn't get more than 2 runs for it. Otherwise it might have been another 7. As a whole we missed several catches that would have been taken last week. I missed at least two catches, I made one nice stop but I threw the ball at the stumps when I should have held it and they stole a run.
A couple of highlights were some great stops and throws by The King to hit the stumps, and a excellent catch by Bendy.

Next week is the Finals and we are playing the Dream Team at 7:50pm.

Dude,

you stand in front of the wickets. You can't expect too many leg side decisions to go your way.

I can't believe you purposefully bowled a ball into the roof!

Who is the anonymous?

Where am I meant to be standing?

Besides it wasn't just me that received the leg side bowling, and didn't get the calls.

The truth is Dog said i should bowl it wide to prevent the back net shot, so by hitting the roof, it prevents anymore than 2 runs, cause it's called a dead ball.
